Introduction: A Lighter Week Amidst Exhaustion
How is everybody feeling this week? I’m still exhausted. But for me, this week feels a little lighter. Not necessarily in all the changes we are navigating, but in the fact I feel a little more able to allow myself spaciousness to recover. I feel deeply connected to the idea of recovery, not only due to finally leaving the eclipse cycle, but starting to close out our year of 2023, which has elicited so much change in all of our lives, and on a global scale.
The Need for Recovery and Spaciousness
In order to show up as my best self, in order to be able to step into the next version of me that is coming around the corner shortly, this version of me very much needs to stop, to sleep, both literally and metaphorically. In the sense that I need to stop striving and working and trust that my innate healing capacity, which happens in sleep, is functioning and will do so best without my interference of what I believe I should be doing.
Astrological Insights: Closing Out 2023 and Activating 2024 Energy
Another intuitive I admire- Lee Harris- said that he feels the energy of 2023 is closing out in November, as if this month has more of a closure to it, and December, actually starts to activate 2024 energy. I really resonated with this and it helped me to feel more supported in my need for slowing down in order to prepare for the newness that is on the horizon.
Astrological Tug-of-War: Taurus vs. Scorpio
Even though we are out of the eclipse cycle, the astrology is still feeling very eclipse-y. We have strong oppositions in Taurus and Scorpio (where the eclipses were,) creating fast waves between groundedness and simple pleasures versus excavation and depths. As both of these signs are fixed, meaning they can be stubborn and resist change, the push and pull between the two can feel like a tug-of-war.
The Self and Other Axis: Taurus and Scorpio Dynamics
These two signs are also the self and other axis. While Taurus is being in our body, in our present and engaged with the 5 senses, Scorpio is the second water sign, meaning it is about navigating watery, emotional depths, in relationship. With the lens of Scorpio, this also means navigating how these relationships can be both a mirror and healing opportunity for our trauma, patterns, and more.
Scorpio’s Call: Release, Rebirth, and Relationship Transformations
Scorpio asks of us to release and rebirth, and as we do this, this inherently shifts our relationships. As we shed and step more into our power, also thematically Scorpio, this also inherently shifts our relationships and we may be seeing transformation play out not only in the self, but between ourselves, partners, and our communities. In all of this, it can be hard to find our footing and, not to mention, what is ours and what is not.
Navigating Scorpio Season and Holidays: Strength in Vulnerability
I mentioned how Scorpio is about rebirth of relationships, excavation of ourselves within them, and this can be an interesting time to navigate this when the holidays follow shortly after. We have been made raw, we have been made vulnerable once again- Scorpio’s biggest strength- but to maintain strength and vulnerability we need self tending so that we may show up knowing our vulnerability is our power.
Choosing Power and Self-Tending
So we may show up, able to witness ourselves, and not let our vulnerability be taken from us again by the provoking aspects of the holidays. Let’s do what we can now to learn how to resource ourselves and separate ourselves from enmeshment, learn what is ours and what is not, so that the next time the waters rise, we have just a bit more strength in our anchor.
Conclusion: The Path Towards Love and Self
It is okay to choose you and your power. Even though relationships are at the forefront, self-tending is the best thing we can do for ourselves and for those relationships, because in our truth is when we are also in our kindness. When we are there, in our authenticity and vulnerability, that beautiful scorpionic wisdom within will help us to move forward with what is meant to go with us on this continual journey towards love and self.
